- Prescription Medications: In some cases, prescription medications may be prescribed to aid weight loss by suppressing appetite, reducing cravings, or increasing metabolism. These medications are used under the supervision of a healthcare provider and may be part of a comprehensive treatment plan.
FAQ
GLP-1s are FDA-approved weight management medication self-administered through injections. Examples of GLP-1s include compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide.
Glucose-like Peptide (GLP-1) inhibitor that accomplishes a few things:
It helps your gut tell your brain that you are full and you don’t need energy from food at that time.
It helps your pancreas release insulin when blood sugar levels are high. The insulin moves sugar from your blood and your body converts it into energy.
It slows down the digestion process, which causes your stomach to feel full for longer.
GLP-1 treatment works when combined with a healthy, well-balanced diet and an exercise regime. Weight loss injections don’t magically make you drop weight, they’re a catalyst for weight loss when you’re taking the right steps on your end!
To be clear, there is no magic pill for weight loss; there is only science. Burn more calories than you consume through exercise and a healthy diet and improve your internal bodily processes through GLP-1.

Before we get into the specifics of our weight loss treatments, let’s uncover some of the reasons why you might be struggling with losing weight. Besides the common reasons like yo-yo dieting—which only results in more cravings and binge eating—and consuming more calories than you’re burning, here are other potential culprits:
Certain medications, such as:
- birth control pills
- Stress, anxiety, and depression
- Lack of exercise
- Health issues like hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism
- Underlying health issues such as heart disease, hormonal disorders, or sleep disorders
- Slow metabolism
- Eating late at night, which raises body temperature, blood sugar, and insulin, making it harder for your body to burn fat
- Consuming too much sugar
An American Medical Association study found that through GLP-1 treatment, the participants achieved 6% weight loss by week 12 and 12% by week 28. As you can see, results aren’t immediate. The amount of time that passes to reach the final result looks different for everyone and depends on multiple factors.
When GLP-1s are used in correspondence with these healthy habits, it can work wonders!
GLP-1s have to be used in conjunction with other elements of a well-rounded weight loss program in order to have the best results.
When you meet with the provider, she will talk you through your weight loss journey and uncover some of the lifestyle changes necessary for this process. The bottom line: GLP-1s will help stop those hunger pangs and cravings, but you have to do your part by eating healthy and moving your body.
Now that you know how GLP-1s work, we want to inform you on the attributes that every medication has: side effects.
Although GLP-1s are safe and effective for a majority of people who have struggled with weight loss and metabolic conditions, it poses some side effects:
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Abdominal pain
- Constipation
- Heartburn
- Burping
- Fatigue
As your body gets used to the medication, these side effects will subside. If they don’t, give us a call and we will talk it through!

Once you schedule your non refundable consultation, a lab order will be sent for you to complete blood work. Blood work must be completed before your consultation, otherwise you will need to pay a $100 rebooking fee.
During your consultation, we will ask you about your medical history, your family’s medical history, your struggles with weight loss, and your current lifestyle and habits.
It’s important to be honest so we can best customize your weight loss plan. After you have discussed everything, we will develop a plan that is best for you.
Step 2: The customized weight loss plan
Once your consultation is complete, you will receive a customized weight loss plan and your medications.
If your provider determines that GLP-1 treatment is right for you, your medication will be sent to a compounding pharmacy and then shipped right to your doorstep!
A compounding pharmacy is different from a traditional pharmacy in that the pharmacists at a compounding pharmacy can combine ingredients in-house to meet an individual patient’s needs. A prescription is still required for compounding pharmacies. By sending your GLP-1 prescription to a compounding pharmacy, we ensure you are getting the treatment we customized specifically for you!
Step 3: Implementation
Implementation is the hardest part. Once we hand the treatment plan over to you, you decide whether or not you’re going to follow through with it. The weight loss plan will take place over a 3 to 6 month period, all depending on your goals.
Whether you decide to be fully dedicated to your treatment plan is up to you, but we will still be by your side throughout the program. We will check in with you via telehealth every 3 weeks and call in a new prescription for you at that time. If you have questions at any point before, during, or after your weight loss plan, let us know! We will happily set up a time to meet with you.
